Why We Exist
The Responsible Energy Council was founded in 2022 with a straightforward conviction: that Californians deserve honest, accessible information about their energy.
Energy is one of the most consequential issues in California today. It affects every household budget, every business decision, every environmental challenge, and every infrastructure investment. Yet most Californians have little access to clear, trustworthy, science-based information about the systems that power their lives.
We built the REC to change that. We are an independent nonprofit committed to education and dedicated to a simple mission: build an energy-educated society in the state of California and beyond.
To build an energy-educated society by combining facts, stories, and history to develop consumer resources.
